Three Mother’s Day Looks

Taking the time to get dressed is one topic I have tackled, but what about taking the time to shop for yourself? Whether it is heading to brunch with my crew, heading to the park for the morning, or out for a date, a girl’s got to have something in her closet that makes her feel more than just a nose wiper or vacuum cleaner from time to time, you know what I mean?! I teamed up with Old Navy to talk about a few outfits I found in time for Mother’s Day that would fit into the category of both functional and stylish…

Look 1: Chambray blue dress | Fedora | Wedge sandals (similar

Why I love the piece: This dress is incredibly soft, flowy, and feminine. Since it is a chambray material it works for daytime or night, and is low fuss.
Quick tip for pulling the look together: Whatever time of day you choose to wear the dress, a good wedge sandal (deceivingly comfortable) works for either. The dress is already stylish as-is, and doesn’t require much in addition to it, so a good fedora is all I added for a finished look.

Boys outfits:
Max: Linen shirt, play shorts, loafers
Rocco: Overalls, hooded sweatshirt, sneakers

Look 2:
Eyelet Midi Dress | Wedge sandals (similar)  | Necklace | Sunnies (similar

Why I love the piece: White. I’ll never get over a good white dress, no matter how messy my little ones are. I risk it for the good hour that it makes me feel my Sunday best. This dress is another comfortable option in a timeless cut mixed with a modern hemline. The geometric eyelet edging is what caught my eye.
Quick tip for pulling the look together: You can’t go wrong with either bold color or nude accents with white based on your preference. Since I would wear this for anything from sunday brunch to a family wedding, a jade necklace,  gold cuff, and a nude wedge or heel dresses it up a little more without taking away from the piece.

Boys outfits:
Max: Linen shirt, play shorts, loafers
Rocco: Overall +tee setslip on loafers

Look 3: Tassel trim top | Denim skinnies | Gladiator sandals (similar) | Tote | Beaded bracelet | Watch

Why I love the piece: Stretch denim….the kind that make you forget you are wearing actual denim. Allows me to get on my boys’ level and keep up with their energy level! A cool tassel trim top doesn’t hurt either. A stylish edge to a very comfortable tank that is both lightweight and forgiving.
Quick tip for pulling the look together: Even when you are considering functionality and comfort, the texture of a piece can make it a fun and trendy one. This tank has swiss dots as well as tassels so it doesn’t need a busy necklace. A colorful pattern in the tote is a great way to keep all your necessities for the day organized while keeping the look effortless and fun.

Boys outfits:
Max: Bermuda shorts, striped tank, tennis shoes
Rocco: Khakis, striped sweatshirt, ball capsuede slip ons

Alright ladies, what are the pieces in your closet you have on hand that make you feel put together for the day? Do you take the time to shop every once in a while for yourself? Just finding a few new items made me feel so refreshed, and I am looking forward to wearing these for not only Mother’s Day, but throughout the coming season. You can check out the rest of my favorite picks over at Old Navy right now!
