Easter Weekend.

April 2, 2018

They were up at sunrise, more than eager to hunt down their hidden easter baskets. Can you tell Gabe is fully awake?

Anything for that bubble gum filled egg.

Azelie was so delicious in her bonnet.

Grilled ham, hasselback potatoes, sauteed brussels, deviled eggs, cornbread, strawberry shortcake…Easter Dinner is one of my favorites of the year!

This weekend was a whirlwind as you can imagine when preparing for Easter Service, Easter meals, Easter baskets, and egg hunts for a family of 7. I don’t think I sat down all weekend! We had friends and family over for easter brunch, followed by a big backyard egg hunt, naps, and a grand slam dinner to finish the day.

This year I needed the Easter message more than ever. A reminder that after the seemingly dark year our world endured last year, that after Good Friday, there is the hope of Resurrection Sunday. Through our own trials and crosses we carry through life, there is someone who did it all before us, and showed us what it means to lay down your life out of love for your people. No matter if you celebrate Easter or not, I know this is something we can all relate to. A message of hope that is needed when things get blurry around us.

I hope you all had a peace filled weekend with your families!

Much love,

The Liesemeyer fam

“We do not pretend that life is all beauty. We are aware of darkness, poverty, and pain. But we know Jesus has conquered sin and passed through his own pain to the glory of the Resurrection. We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song!”  -John Paul II
