Cobani Frozen Pops | In Honor of Design

Chobani so kindly sent me a case of their best greek yogurt to play around with which was fun for all of us considering we eat it daily. (Its Veronica’s favorite breakfast option.) Its still as hot as heck here in Atlanta so I thought it would be super cool (pun intended) to turn these into frozen treats on the go to get us through these hot afternoons.

Its really simple I promise!

Ingredients:
Chobani Greek Yogurt  – Plain or Vanilla
Frozen Berries
Frozen Bananas
Agave Nectar (optional)
Ice Pop Mold
Blender or Yonanas Machine (what I used)

Directions:
Take out your berries from the freezer and let them thaw for a few minutes till they perspire.

For Yonana Machine: Run berries through the machine and mix with half cup of vanilla yogurt (if you use plain it will be tart so add agave.) Pour half of mixture in the molds and stick in freezer.
Rinse and repeat with frozen bananas (pull straight out of the freezer). Layer in molds as second layer and put back in freezer.

Rinse and repeat with berry medley, add the tops of the molds and freeze for 2 hours.

Blender: Add berries, yogurt, and agave at once. Pour half the mix in molds.
Rinse blender and add bananas and chobani yogurt. Fill the molds 2/3 of the way.
Add the rest of the berry mixture and the tops of the molds and freeze for two hours.

Pretty simple! And you have a good amount as a result! If you try these out be sure to let me know how it goes!

1 Minute Frozen Yogurt: Strawberry-Blueberry

January 9, 2013

We have been playing around with our Yonanas gift I mentioned in yesterday’s post, and this is one of my favorite combinations so far. Very simple, and takes all of 60 seconds to make, so I can’t use that excuse of not having time to make a healthy breakfast anymore…darn it.
This would be simple to blend in a blender as well!
My children think its ice cream so we fool them with this surprise treat on occasion.
Green smoothies in the blender are also ideal for serving up multiple vegetable servings for breakfast with a sweet disguise.
*Tip: Let your frozen fruit sit out until it perspires-makes for easier blending! Also, freeze your fresh fruit when its over ripe. Its perfect for frozen yogurt:)
Will share more of these soon, and can’t wait to introduce you to my new food columnist!

Asheville, NC Weekend + Recs!

Corner Kitchen at Biltmore Village

Considering the last few months have been a blur of recovering from a new baby, keeping up with school functions, costumes for Halloween, easing back into work, etc…Gabe and I have had approximately zero quality time. It’s easy to let months go by just trying to keep up with life, and not scheduling any time together outside of work or parenting. So we booked a last minute airbnb and headed for the mountains outside of Asheville.

Pantry Organization + Grocery Planning.

January 22, 2019

We converted our laundry room into a walk in pantry last year, and I wasn’t sure if we would actually be able to stay on top of it being organized! We still have the small side pantry in the kitchen which many of the odd end items and half eaten bag of chips land. Overall, we’ve been able to keep up with this setup, and this pantry has been so helpful with staying on top of food organization. We no longer have to store half of of our food items in the garage, and we can now keep better track of what what food we have in stock and what we are running low on. Having a place for everything has really cut down on waste and spending!

Steak Salads + Watermelon Sorbet (Whole30)

June 7, 2017

Gabe and I are attempting a modified version of whole30 for the month (hesitant to even type those words!). Modified by not excluding dairy, and allowing grass fed butter and cheese here and there. We’ve made it 7 days and I am attempting to wean myself off of my beloved artificial coffee creamer. Our main motivation being more energy! We both have sweet tooths, but hate the way it makes us feel afterwards. I will probably cheat on whole30 with ice cream before the end of the month, but for now, watermelon and fruit helps curb that sugar craving!

These steak salads and watermelon sorbet combo is an easy dinner I just made us that filled us up pretty well. I made a side of rice pasta for the kids to have with the meat. The biggest challenge with Whole30 is finding meals that work for the whole family so this was one solution that worked!

Easy Stromboli Recipe

May 1, 2017

I was going to rule out recipe posts here, but I keep getting requests for meal ideas that we feed our big family. So occasionally I will share one, but typically it’s nothing out of the ordinary! My little ones get to request their dinner of choice on their birthday, and Gabriel has requested Stromboli the last few years. It yields a large quantity, is too easy to make, and will become an instant favorite! This recipe was adapted from my dear friend’s mother. She introduced me to Stromboli years ago, and we have made it ever since. Also, do you think there is such a thing as non-awkward making good photos? I’ll keep practicing, promise.
