Well my friends, I unplugged from the internet over the weekend to focus on finishing up the Gift Guide (which I will share tomorrow!!) and spend time with my family. It was such a refreshing weekend which included dinner guests, date night, and making Turkey sugar cookies witht the kids and their Nannah (we don’t get to see her much)! I look forward to catching up with you soon!
Stop by tomorrow for the launch of the IHOD Holiday Gift Guide! I am beyond excited to share!

Lookbook: Scarf 3 Ways

November 10, 2011

(Scarf: Old Navy (available in stores), Top: Target, Jeans: LOFT, Earrings: IHOD, Bracelets: F21)
Well I decided to combine my crush on scarves and flannel with this scarf. I was totally getting a kick out of your comments on the last flannel post. I felt both canadian, midwestern, and lumberjack in these photos I hope you know;) With pride no shame. What I love about this scarf, is that it is large enough to change it up and keep you warm:)  I’ll be wearing this  baby all through the winter! If you want an awesome how to video, check out Wendy’s 25 ways to wear a scarf!
P.S. Have I told you lately how wonderful you readers are??? Any spare minute I have had this week (which hasn’t been much due to the flu) has gone to preparing the Gift Guide, but I promise to come visit soon! In the meantime, please allow email reply in your blogger settings so I can reply to your lovely comments!!

November 7, 2011

Good morning ladies:) My name is Anna, and I blog over at IHOD. I was tickled Alexa asked me to be a guest here! Here’s a peak at some of my daily staples….

( Necklace – Bauble Bar, Sweater- H&M, Bracelets – Natalia Brilli,  Scarf- Lisa Rinell
Rockstar Jeggings – Old Navy, Boots – Carlos Santana)

I am definately an accessories girl, so I usually am in jeans and a long sleeve tee or sweater and accessorize with either a scarf, necklace, earrings, or bangles. Sometimes all of the above;) Of course, boots are my fave in the fall/winter months. Warm, comfortable, and chic. When you are a mama, getting dressed sometimes doesn’t happen till the afternoon, so if I am running out the door, its easy to throw on some fun accessories and feel a little more put together. I notice that when I put a little effort into styling I have a more positive attitude for my day.

Take the same pair of boots and pair it with a skirt or dress and you have a little more feminine and classy look. Its always nice to dress up once in a while, even if its just for the husband. (He’s worth it!)
But just between you and me, I have days at least once a week where I don’t get out of my sweats. They are too comfortable;) What are your favorite go to staples?
Thanks again for having me Alexa!

Sunday Mornings

November 7, 2011

Sunday mornings are cherished to me.
After going to Mass, we always have brunch together. Gabe loves to make breakfast for us or we go get donuts at our favorite local joint. Its followed by a good cup of joe and the Sunday paper. Christmas music will now be added into the mix;) I like to refer to these mornings as my re-fuel mornings. Its all around a great recipe for the soul.

(You can see the last of the donut crumbs all over little mister’s sweater and cheeks.)
I missed our Sunday morning routine terribly yesterday, as we were all out with the flu. Already looking forward to the weekend…
How do you spend your Sunday’s??

*The snuggly mug cozy was a gift from my awesome sister-in-law via etsy:) The nail color is a new fave from Butter London.

Style Files: Winter Wool

November 4, 2011

(Minimal Coat – ASOS, Cheryl Assymetrical Coat – Rachel Zoe, Wool Military Coat – FM908 on Etsy
Winter Cashmere Coat -FM908 on Etsy, Chesapeak Coat – J Crew)
I absolutely love the fall, but am not a fan of winter. Coat season makes me want to stay inside and hibernate. Luckily, we have a few more weeks of warm weather here in GA. These Winter Wools had a strange effect on me….like I shouldn’t dread winter so much. I might even look forward to coat weather if I had one of these jewels;)
