Is there anything that says adulting more than cleaning tool enthusiasm?? I have arrived. Our old vacuum bit the dust, and I was forced to go down the rabbit hole of research for the best cordless vacuum cleaner;) I thought I would go ahead and share what we landed with, and a few of our most used home cleaning tools that in our busy household!
I was actually surprised to read the many mixed reviews on top tier prices point Dyson Cordless vacs. A main complaint being the battery would die, but since it wasn’t removable it wasn’t easily replaceable. I heard first hand rave reviews about the TineCo brand so after reading reviews from their different models, I ordered the TineCo Pure One S11 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. $210 (After applying coupon)
These are my takeaways so far…
The Pros:
– Rechargeable/removable battery – If for some reason it doesn’t hold up for as long as the projected life span, you can replace with an extra battery.
– Optional wall mount – It comes with a wall mount where you can hang up the vacuum and charge easily with a plug in wall unit.
– Auto turbo strength for detecting stronger suction needs.
– Hardwoods and carpet friendly.
– Multiple attachments for smaller nooks and stairs.
– Easy to empty the dirt canister and clean filter.
– Pet/child hair friendly. Cleans up both well as long as you are checking the bottom and cleaning that off as needed!
The Cons:
– 45 minute battery life – that is usually plenty of time for me to vacuum all the areas I want to get to at a given time as I don’t vacuum the entire house at once. However, wouldn’t mind a 2 hr battery life!
– Heaviest section is on top while the bottom feels lightweight – this means it could grow tiresome to hold after long periods of time.
2. O-Cedar ProMist Max Spray Mop
This is a simple and affordable floor cleaning lifesaver. We have preferred this O-Cedar spray mop to any other fancy wet vacuum options because it is so simple, lightweight, and effective. You fill the spray bottle with your cleaning solution of choice, spray, and mop over with the double sided microfiber cloths. We remove the cloths and toss them in the washer after use! The Bona floor cleaning solution worked so well with our Bona stained floors, but it still works incredible on our old hardwood floors in our current home. We use this in our tile or vinyl floor rooms and bathrooms as well. Currently on sale for $31
(cleaning off water stains from our sofa!)
3. Bissell Little Green Machine
A few years ago I bought this Bissel Little Green Machine over amazon prime day, and it has come through for us many times over! It can spot treat and clean carpets, furniture, rugs, etc. and I have been blown away by its effectiveness. It comes with an Oxy spot and stain cleaning solution which we have found to be really good at helping remove the stains. It has a scrubber at the end of the suction hose that allows you to spray, scrub, and then suction up any dirt and stains. This is a home cleaning tool we have used for everything from coffee stains to marker drawings to stomach bug mishaps. It will most likely be on sale during Prime Day, but currently $123
This handy home cleaning tool is small and mighty! I use this to vacuum smaller nooks and crannies like inside drawers, the coffee cabinet, around staircase spindles, and all the hard to reach places! It comes with a few different attachments in varying sizes, and can easily be charged via USB port. This is still going strong after a few years too! It’s currently the lowest price I have seen too at $49.
5. Portable Handheld Car vacuum
This is just like the Eufy, but even smaller so it is the perfect size for storing in your car! We keep this in our suburban that tends to collect the entire universe over the school year. We clean out the car monthly and use this hand vac to suck up everything stuffed in the car crevices! $20
Favorite home cleaning solutions:
1) All purpose cleaning solution – I have used Thieves concentrate for years for my all purpose cleaner. It’s effective with safe ingredients, and smells really good. I love that one bottle of concentrate will last me months. It is 1 part concentrate to 30 parts water and can be used for kitchen, bathrooms, shelves, windows, tile, etc. I fill several glass spray bottles at one time, and stick them in every bathroom and under the kitchen sink. I also use the kitchen and bath scrub for extra strength on tubs and showers.
2) Floor cleaning solution – We always go back to the Bona Hardwood Floor Solution for cleaning our hardwoods. It is thorough without leaving any residue, and doesn’t have all those strong fragrance or chemical smells.
3) Rugs and upholstery cleaning solution – I’d love to find an alternative to synthetic fragrances for carpet cleaners, but for now this Oxy spot and stain cleaning solution has done the job! We use this in the Bissell for spot cleaning rugs, carpets, and upholstery.
I would be interested to hear any other home cleaning tool and cleaning solutions you swear by!
