Last December we were trying to finish painting this room before Christmas break, and we had a free standing fireplace in the corner of the room. It was a year long project to get this room finished, so we all feel so grateful to have this living room to enjoy for the holidays this year. Sharing a view around the room today all done up for Christmas!

I shared more about the fireplace and surround here. For garland this year I wrapped a mixed pine garland and this real touch garland together for the sides, and draped on across the top. I have had the beaded garland for years, and just hooked on some bells. The vinrtage glass beads were a boutique find one afternoon, as well as the bronze candlestick holders. I love collecting vintage treasures.

These village houses have moved with us from home to home, and now feel like a nostalgic piece of our memories. The kids get so excited to bring them out every year. As I miss my own family at Christmas time I am realizing the family Gabe and I have grown now holds our own traditions that have become a significant part of our home and holidays.

We pile on all the kids’ ornaments on this tree, and every year it gets a little more cluttered in the best way. We give them an ornament a year on St. Nicholas Day so that when they are grown and gone they have their own little box full to take with them.
We are home for the holidays this year, and I am so grateful to be in a place we feel rooted, and that my children are healthy. This is something that feels like a treasure now.
