DIY Distressed Denim Cutoff Shorts

You guys I promise I am not as busy as it seems. I just have finally gotten better at time management and doing projects in groups to spread out over a month. It’s been really fun contributing to e-how! DIY Essential Oil Body Butter

This is a fun gift idea that doesn’t take much time to make and is incredible beneficial to your health to use! Even safe for mamas to be as a belly rub:) It will not only give you soft, balmy skin, but it acts as a stress and anxiety reliever as well! I use essential oils in numerous ways for my family and I. (Read a little more here.)

Materials:
Lavender (calming stress reliever) or Grapefruit – 10-12 drops
Frankincense (promotes smooth and even skin) – 4-6 drops
Copaiba (promotes youthful skin) – 4-6 drops
1 c. Shea Butter
1/2 c. Coconut Oil
1/2 c. Jojoba Oil

STEPS:
1.Use a double broiler and place shea butter, coconut oil, and avocado, olive, or almond oil in the top. Bring water to a boil.
2. Stir until the substances are melted and blending. Remove from heat. Add in essential oils and stir again
3. Cover and place in the fridge to set.
4. Using a mixer, beat the mix until it has a fluffier blended look and feel.

This filled three small glass jars! I use it on my face, legs, and arms at night for ultra moisture and calming scents. This is a perfect Mother’s Day, bridal, or birthday gift. Show if you give it a try, we would love to see the results!

Local Notes: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream

It’s been so crazy around here that I haven’t had a chance to post a local notes feature in a while! Back when my sister was visiting we hit up Westside Provisions. (Remember Calypso St. Barth and Seed Factory?) We also made a stop at the famous Jeni’s Splendid Ice cream which lived up to the hype and more. I am thankful its a hike to get there or otherwise I would surely grow summer saddles purely from ice cream.

I have a weak spot for this place because it was started in my homeland OH and has an ice cream flavor dedicated to it called

If you are traveling through Atlanta, Jeni’s is worth your stop over. But make sure to leave a twenty minute time span to decide on what flavor to choose. Thankfully, they have the taste test option….crucial for people like me who take ice cream flavor choosing super seriously. And out of state? Don’t worry, you can order online!!

This weekend was exceptional. Crystal blue skies. I ignored my work and we lived outside! Hope you all got the same treatment from mother nature:)
The Brand Market has taken off in full speed which is thrilling and nerve wrecking at the same time. I already have hired help for accounting and some email management, but realize I desperately need help in event co-ordinating as well, which brings me to my next point… INTERN WANTED!

COMPANY: The Brand Market
POSITION: Event Co-ordinator
HOURS: A few hours per week to start
NEEDS: Organization, planning, and co-ordination for upcoming workshops. Finding event space, research and booking of catering companies, scouting swag bag sponsors, overseeing decor and florals, etc.
SKILLS: Looking for someone who has an understanding of The Brand Market’s overall style and goals, with event management skills and strong attention to details. Email etiquette abilities, communication skills, and resourcefulness are the main factors I am looking for. Atlanta area is a PLUS!
PAY: This is an internship (with stipend), with potential to become a paid position.

How to make your own outdoor bar table

So as Anna mentioned yesterday, I am taking over for the day for a little woodworking lesson. Technically speaking this is a stationary table. What is good about the design and materials is that it can easily be turned into a cart by shortening the legs and slapping the wheels of your choice on the bottom.

This may seem like a complicated process at first glance, but it is surprisingly simple and can easily be complete by a novice at woodworking. This was my first furniture project designed and built from the ground up, and I would in no way consider myself highly skilled in woodworking. As such, it is an ideal project for a first timer, especially considering the relatively low cost.
