Thought I would show you a peek into my kitchen…where I spend a good amount of time feeding the boys in the family;) And while I am at it, I might as well share with you one of my family’s favorite meals. Its the one my husband usually requests for his birthday dinner;) It’s my mom’s recipe so there is a lot of sentiment tied to it! …
Chicken Paprika
(Recipe is for 2 lbs chiken but I often half it for 1 lb.)
2 lbs Chicken Breasts cut into strips
1 stick of butter
1 1/2 medium onions
1/3 c. sour cream
1 t. salt
1 t. pepper
2 t. paprika
1) Chop onion and place in a large cooking pot along with the stick of butter and cook over low heat until onions are clear.
2) Add salt, pepper, and paprika
3) Place the chicken around the bottom of the pot and let sit for two minutes on each side. Cover and let simmer for a good hour. Turn the chicken half way through. (The key to the flavor of this dish is letting it sit in the spices for a good long while!)
4) When the chicken is close to being finished, cook a pound of pasta of your choice. Cavatapi and Rotini are great ones.
4) When the chicken is ready, remove it from the pot and set aside. Add the sour cream to the sauce and whisk together.
5) Pour the sauce and chicken over the noodles and enjoy every last bite:)
First of all, you make shorts and tees and unkempt hair look GOOD. No, GREAT. You are so cute!!
And second, my mom makes a mean Chicken Paprikash!! One of my favorite sentimental, delicious meals 🙂 Although I have yet to try and make it myself… I think you’ve inspired me!!!
oh Anna, your “usual” attire is just so darling! i saw the 1st bright pic pop up on my blogroll and knew i had to visit right away to see the rest : )
these are just like out of a magazine spread and i loved the sentiment behind your recipe plus the fact it’s got paprika in it! yah, one of my fave ingredients right there. my mom’s recipes seem to go missing from her kitchen every now and then, she’ll call me up going “hmmm, wonder where that one disappeared to?” i think she’s almost found me out ; )
happy mid-week love sends your way, this was a great walk into today!!! xoox ♥
This recipe sounds delish! and simple too, my kinda cooking 😉 i’ll for sure have to give this one a try!! and umm your regular old attire is so cute!! love that yellow cardi!!
Anna this sounds SO good! I bookmarked it and we will definitely be eating this soon! This is exactly the kind of dish my husband and I like. I hope you post more recipes sometime!
Oh and you are so adorable! Your “around the house” outfit and hair are like 10x better than what I’m working for the day-to-day around here!
Anna, I think you look great!! I love how shy you say you are taking pictures but you don’t look it..You look like a natural!! Wish I could get my hair to do that. I’m very bad at styling the back of my hair. and this recipe sounds fantastic!
Okay for starters your outfit is adorable. Totally my style although I never look that cute cooking 🙂 This so pretty awesome. I know my husband would be a fan for sure!
I just love your blog!! Added it to my blogroll. Hope it brings some new traffic and readers for you
Sounds yummy Anna, must try this! And i LOVE your vellow cardi – must have one like this for autumn. Your usual attire is always very stylish dear 😉

Yum-o! You look darling. I look so dishelved when I’m home. I wear my ugliest clothes to combat the dog hair. Just one year without dog hair is all I want!!
Anna, I’m so glad you’re sharing your home (and your recipes!) with us. This chicken sounds delicious!! And you look adorable in your navy stripes and yellow 🙂
Is that your usual cooking outfit?!?!? It’s way too cool for the kitchen, lol. And I second what Jaymee said – I can only hope to look like this after I have kids 🙂 Hope you’re having a great week! xx
Oh my goodness! I am so excited about this recipe, because I actually have all of the ingredients to make this! (without having to go to the store). I think I might use penne pasta, since that’s what I have on hand. Thank you!!!
Also, I must say, if that’s your casual version – shorts, tee & unkempt hair, I can’t imagine you dressed tot he nines! You look AMAZING!!!
