Sunday Mornings

November 7, 2011

Sunday mornings are cherished to me.
After going to Mass, we always have brunch together. Gabe loves to make breakfast for us or we go get donuts at our favorite local joint. Its followed by a good cup of joe and the Sunday paper. Christmas music will now be added into the mix;) I like to refer to these mornings as my re-fuel mornings. Its all around a great recipe for the soul.

(You can see the last of the donut crumbs all over little mister’s sweater and cheeks.)
I missed our Sunday morning routine terribly yesterday, as we were all out with the flu. Already looking forward to the weekend…
How do you spend your Sunday’s??

*The snuggly mug cozy was a gift from my awesome sister-in-law via etsy:) The nail color is a new fave from Butter London.

  • 3! Hope you guys feel better sooN!

  • sundays are beautiful here too – we take a stroll through town and have lunch with manu’s family. it’s great relaxing and eating together! 🙂

  • Love Sundays! Although I always feel like we are a bit rushed and sometimes….most of the time un-Christian on our way out the door….

  • Sundays are my favorite. Always start off with Church then a family lunch (the only time we all make it a point to get together) and then relax for the day. Hope y’all feel better!!!! <3

  • oh no! hope you’re all feeling better love! what a precious tradition. and adding christmas music to that mix sounds just divine!

  • Your Sunday mornings sound wonderful! I usually sleep in because we go to a later church service. I savor my morning coffee and take my time getting ready. I really love Sunday afternoons – nothing that we have to do, except relax! I hope you and your family feel better soon!! 🙂

  • What a lovely post. Your photos are so pretty, and your little boy…geez. What a cutie!

I, too, cherish my Sunday routine. The boyfriend and I go to church, then maybe grab a meal, but more than likely come back home to change into comfies and drink cappuccino on the couch while we watch movies/TV and chat. Sundays are my favorite day, which is why I like to consider them the start of my week…not the end. 🙂

  • Sunday brunches are a big family tradition at our home too. We sit and talk with the kids and enjoy yummy food and the free time together – it’s a livesaver sometimes!

  • Awww I’m sorry you guys were feeling sick! But hopefully everyone’s starting to feel better now 🙂

Your Sunday morning routine sounds idyllic 🙂

    xoxo

  • Also out with the flu. Sigh. Love your Sunday routine. I can’t wait to have that again. We haven’t been able to slip back into it after having Mila.

  • Yes, hope you are better to your refreshing Sunday routine soon!

We don’t go to Church until 11:00am so it gives us wonderful time for breakfast and ‘chilling’ in the mornings together. Sunday donuts are an almost every weekend MUST!

  • i love lazy sundays… we usually don’t do a thing and at night we watch desperate housewives! and im soo excited about the christmas music.

  • Sounds like a perfect Sunday! Hope everyone is feeling better!

  • Hope you’re feeling better soon! I’ve been down & out with the flu for 4 days now. I spent all weekend on the couch or in my bed in the fetal position – no fun! I missed my Sunday routine as well 🙁

  • I love it! After church, husband and I usually make something to eat then lay all lazy in the couch and watch a nice movie. Yesterday we watched Gnomeo & Juliet. It was cute! ..but I’m was also stuck with unpleasant allergies, and sinus stuff. Can’t wait for next weekend either!

  • ahhh, I’m relaxed just thinking about Sunday mornings like this… so lovely.

Hope you all are feeling better soon!

  • I work every weekend so I can be a stay at home mom during the week. I miss not being able to make mass because of work. I miss lazy weekends with my husband and kiddos.

  • Absolutely love this Anna! With no kids, J and I have silly Sunday routines right now. We have two typical Sundays. One is we go to 11am Mass, then have coffee and doughnuts afterward, then we go with some friends (one being the priest!) to get some crepes at a local restaurant. The rest of the day (as it is usually 2 by the end of this) is restful, finishing up some chores and whatnot.

The other Sunday is sleeping in too late, watching movies all day, then reverting to our college days and going to Mass at 9pm.

Needless to say, Crepes days are my favorite. I do love early morning church though… we use to do that, in days before Crepes. We’ve already decided that once kids are around we will go back to those days. I’m looking forward to it!

    xoxo

  • Sunday mornings are a very special time 🙂 I hope you all feel better soon – poor you 🙁 xx

  • Oh Anna these pictures are precious!! Your little boy looks adorable!!! : )

Sunday is also a great day for our family, we spend every second together, have breakfast in bed (our little boy LOVES that) and then we’re off for some adventure!

Yesterday we took the water taxi to South Street Seaport and my boy loved the ride!!

Lots of family cuddling, cooking meals together and prepping for the week ahead!! The best day ever!!

    xoxo, Paula

  • Love Sundays too. It is the one day, I call as completely my own. I don’t feel bad if I don’t speak to a soul all day, or go nonstop for Sunday Funday… whatever it is, it is my day.

  • Oh no!! Feel better soon!!

Sounds like the perfect Sunday morning routine. I adore the peace and quiet of Sunday morning’s and the coffee always tastes so much better 🙂

  • what a great sunday tradition. ours sound very similar to yours, relaxing, soaking up time with each other, savoring a cup of coffee and a donut or some other breakfast goodie

  • Such a sweet sunday routine! Love the starbucks mug, knitted coaster, and mention of donuts too! -JB.

  • Love these pics…they remind me of my Sundays 🙂 My hubby and I always meet our family for church and Sunday School, then usually head home with one side of the family for a good lunch and some family games/movies. Then we crash at our place and enjoy some snuggle time 🙂

  • This post is so precious and so are all the pics! We just had a sunday like this too and it’s been my favorite in a while. It was a rare rainy day in Hollywood so we napped all afternoon to wake up to perfectly overcast skies and venured out for a “photo shoot” 🙂 I got great pics of the little one. Can’t beat pics of the littles.

  • adorable photos as always! sorry to hear you guys caught the flu!! bless your hearts! hope you’ll all on your way to a healthy recovery!

  • That is definitely a recipe for perfection…but not the flu, YUCK! Doesn’t that stinky ol’ flu know that he is messing up a perfectly good Sunday??? Hope you all are feeling much better (c: Cutest pictures ever (c:

  • I love this! Sundays sound like such a lovely cherished day. I actually can’t wait till Christmas music starts playing… I love it!

  • I cherish Sunday mornings, too. And your little Mister is just beyond words adorable!!

  • we do coffee before church, and it’s such a nice quiet time… then after lunch, naps! 🙂 lately, we have been meeting our friends up for service at another church, too, and do dinner together afterwards. it makes it a bit more hectic to jam the extra church outing in the day… but it also is a good day to just focus. xo.

  • Sundays are the best! Love these photos : ) Nothing beats a leisurely Sunday morning! Hope you are all feeling better sooon!

  • Beautiful post, Anna. And a beautiful family.

  • awww… get well soon anna! i love sunday mornings too 🙂

  • your son is so crazy cute

  • Sounds like a great way to recharge the soul!

  • your Sunday morning looks like something out of an idyllic lifestyle magazine feature. oh right! that’s the way to enjoy a morning with the fams. ours has been a flurry of rushes lately, i dream of one day soon getting back to something as gloriously tranquil as this. totally off topic but i gotta say i LOVE the shape of your nails. i don’t think i’ve noticed before but you really have such beautiful hands, delicate and nurturing. the hands tell a lot about the person i think. is it strange to say? hope not : )

    xoox ♥

  • Awwww your Sunday routine warms my heart!!!! I really want to start a routine/tradition like that. Sometimes all our days look the same and that would really make things more special and remind us to reconnect 🙂
