I have tested a bunch of non-toxic cleaners over the last few years, and I have found a few I really love that are effective and budget friendly. I’d love to hear yours as well!
1. I couldn’t get over the price of Public Goods products with a wholesale membership, so decided to give them a try. By far the best scents of cleaning products and soaps I have tried that uses clean ingredients! I also really liked what their company stands for. They offer refills you can purchase so you don’t have to continue to by bottles as well. It’s free two day shipping over $45 oder so I stocked up on hand soap, dish soap, bathroom and surface cleaner! I also ordered the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner for my older kiddos as well. They gave me a discount code to share with you all – 25% off your first purchase with code: ‘ANNAPGA’ using this link.
2. A long time favorite cleaning product is Thieves Cleaners! This video sold me on the effectiveness of Thieves cleaning solution a few years ago. I bought a couple amber glass jars and put them around the house. One capful + fill the bottle with water is all it takes, so one bottle lasted me over a year! I use it for kitchen countertops, windows, bathrooms, allll the doorknobs, etc. You can get a Thieves cleaning kit (which includes the amber glass bottle + oils) or just the cleaning solution for either retail or wholesale price as a member. I use their YLGo shipping like Amazon prime;)
Other oils I use for cleaning:
Lemon oil – removes gunk and grime like none other! (ie: cleaning the fridge!)
Purification oil – the only thing I can get to absorb bad odors from trash or bathrooms. I put a couple drops in the bottom of every waste can and it works like a charm.
Thieves oil – I love to diffuse Thieves + Orange to purify the air whenever we have any sickness.
Tea Tree Oil – Can be used for a homemade cleaner (recipe below)
3. I am in a season of life where I just can’t get to making my own cleaners, elderberry syrup, and all the rest. However, wanted to include this homemade cleaner recipe that I have been wanting to try!
Homemade All-Purpose Cleaner
- 3/4 cup hydrogen peroxide.
- 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar.
- 1 teaspoon unscented liquid Castile soap.
- 10 drops tea tree essential oil.
- 20 drops lavender essential oil.
- 2 cups water.
All of these options cut down significantly on waste and amount of money you need to spend on household items! Also, I swear it makes everyone in a better mood when the house smells cheerful;)
