Back to School Favorites We Use and Love

back to school guide - lunch boxes

Meant to share these back to school favorites sooner, but well….newborn life. These are some things that we use and love during the school year. This summer was a blur, and it’s hard for me to even wrap my mind around the fact that my kids are another grade older already. Maybe this year won’t be as much of a whirlwind as the last two? Crossing my fingers.

  1. Cupkins come in a bunch of colors. There are large and small sizes that are great for kids, and we use them for morning smoothies. Also safe to take in the car if you are running late (which we always are).
  2. Insulated lunch boxes that fit all of the things, and at a great price point.
  3. Daisy lunch box
  4. Stasher sandwich bags – these have held up so well for us, and are dishwasher safe.
  5. Bentgo box – Another inexpensive sandwich container option.
  6. Elastic Spiral Hair Ties – Didn’t understand the hype, but these have actually been fantastic for thick hair.
  7. Lego Pencil Box – Needed something to motivate Max to remember his pencils.
  8. Headphones – Since this was on the supply list this year, I found these comfortable kid size.
  9. Caribener clips – We used these inside and outside backpacks this year for water bottles since they tend to disappear!
  10. Stainless Steel Bentgo Boxes – These are easy to wash and use for all ages.
  11. Zipper pencil pouch of my childhood dreams.
  12. Camelbak Water Bottles – These have been awesome for my kids, and don’t leak!

girls back pack

I have procrastinated on buying a few backpacks for my kids who wore the life out of theirs! We got Azelie the daisy backpack (#4) for her birthday, and it’s the perfect size for Pre-K/K. I needed one for the boys that would hold heavier books so went with this one. Let’s see if we can get through the year hole free!

I admire our teachers so much as they face another year with lots of unknowns. My kids have been so happy to go to school this year, and that is such a sigh of a relief for a parent. I credit the teachers for that! Wishing you all a smooth school year:)

  • My son carried so many heavy books that we had to reinforce the straps on his backpacks so they wouldn’t break. Are the schools in your area mandating masks? Pat S
