5 Labor Day Weekend Staycation Ideas.

September 1, 2017

After traveling a good deal the last few months, we are more than happy to stay put this weekend. Here are a few Labor Day weekend Staycation ideas you can use in your own living room or backyard to make the most of time with your family!

Backyard Dinner Party – Bring a table and chairs out back with some throw pillows and a tablecloth. Light some candles, call your neighbors, and enjoy some wine and cheese together. Or maybe just dessert!

2. Outdoor Movie Night – All you need is a projector, computer, and a sheet for this one! Whether you wait till the kids are in bed for a date, or if you make it a family affair, bring out the popcorn and cozy blankets for a movie under the stars. More details here.

3. Backyard Campout – We have a fast pitch tent that makes it easy to assemble and pop out to make a weekend into an adventure! My sister visited over the summer, and everyone fought over who got to sleep in the tent;) S’mores and a bonfire are a fun way to make a night of it.

4. Bonfire + S’mores  – A good way to have a proper farewell to summer and hello to fall. We always end up bring out guitars for a little music, and s’mores or cider for some bites and sips. My personal favorite way to do s’mores is with some brownie brittle, marshmallow, and peanut butter!

5. Hike – We are lucky to live somewhat close to the north Georgia mountains which is breathtaking in the fall. It’s challenging to hike with little ones, but there is something to be gained from conquering a mountain together! Side note: Pack dum dum suckers in case bribery is needed…

Wishing you all some restful time with your loved ones this weekend. To our TX readers, you are in our prayers!

P.S. Ways to send aid to TX.
