After trying my own capsule wardrobe I realized I should be doing this for my kids too.! They don’t need much, and usually want to wear the same favorites over and over again. Sound familiar? I usually get most of my kids’ clothes at consignment shops or old navy, and love supporting small shops when I can. I found some great separates that work well for a kids capsule wardrobe for fall and winter months as thought starters if you need some ideas!
I swore last year was it. I just said let the kids pick their costumes and keep it easy this year. But then! After our boys’ suggested Star Wars, I ironically stumbled on a whole slew of costumes on sale at a consignment store in all the right sizes……it seemed like the force wanted it to happen.;)
It can be a little tricky figuring out what to wear to a wedding during the fall and winter seasons, especially if it’s an outdoor one! A friend of mine got married over the weekend on an unusually cold and windy day for Atlanta. I ended up choosing a dress I could layer over for indoor/outdoor temps.
It’s been over a year since we started design concepts for our basement space, and the boys’ room was our main motivation to make it happen! They were itching for a little room to stretch. We designed this space with the goal of making it a place that was both functional and peaceful so that they would enjoy spending time there. I couldn’t wait to add some color, so several paint swatches later, we chose Pratt and Lambert’s Accolade Interior Premium Paint & Primer in their 2018 Color of the Year, Heron (27-18).
Reveal days are big celebration days over here, because behind every room we work on are the many hours of prep, design, construction, styling, photography, etc. You finally get to enjoy the space you have conceptualized months ago! It’s teaching me a good deal about patience. So we’ve been hangin’ here….morning coffee through a night cap after hours to squeeze as much time as we can while the weather is at a prime. So excited to share the final result of our patio makeover today.
This is the 3rd annual autumn home tour we’ve done here on the blog, and you will probably notice some repeating patterns. I tend to decorate for October and November so I don’t have to change much out! My motivation for decorating for the seasons is that my little family gets so jazzed about even the smallest of pumpkin changes;) Hope you enjoy this little autumn home tour….
I listened to a podcast recently that really flipped my perception of balance on it’s head. I always looked at balance as a scale so to speak, equally balancing the portions of our life. I stopped pursuing balance when I realized it was an impossible myth to chase. There seemed to be this illusion of a balanced life that I felt I could never reach. It’s an exhausting pursuit. But what if… we took a good hard look at the meaning of balance, and divided the lie from the truths? Maybe then we could actually start finding the peace in our lives that we seek.
