Coconut Breakfast Bowls

coconut breakfast bowls

I have actually never attempted to crack a coconut. They aren’t easy let me tell ya, but in some odd way, they are kind of stress relieving to break. I know, odd. The good thing is, they make all breakfast items new to little ones as they sit in awe over their makeshift bowls and ask fifty-two questions about where they come from, how they are grown, and if they are edible;) So here’s to another victory morning in conquering grains for a more energy driven breakfast.

Coconut Breakfast Bowls
Raw Cashews (Or unsalted)
Blueberries
Cottage Cheese
Coconut Halves (Save the juice!)

Super simple combos are what is working for us! Shoot over any additional ideas, and we will try them out! In case you missed, last week’s breakfast hack here.

Baby Kanga.

I never started baby wearing until I had no choice. My third baby outnumbered us, and I needed the extra set of hands. I then wondered why I held out so long! It was a cool experience to have them nestled so close. Both Max and Rocco loved to fall asleep in their kanga pouch. Elle, who founded Solly Baby, asked us to take part of the spring shoot this year. 48 hours with my babe in California? Alright, I guess.

Three Mother’s Day Looks

April 25, 2016

Taking the time to get dressed is one topic I have tackled, but what about taking the time to shop for yourself? Whether it is heading to brunch with my crew, heading to the park for the morning, or out for a date, a girl’s got to have something in her closet that makes her feel more than just a nose wiper or vacuum cleaner from time to time, you know what I mean?! I teamed up with Old Navy to talk about a few outfits I found in time for Mother’s Day that would fit into the category of both functional and stylish…

Pineapple Breakfast Bowls

April 20, 2016

pineapple breakfast bowls

Honest report: I still had cereal twice this week. No excuses, I just love a good bowl of quaker oats. Better than 6 times a week, however, I’m determined to kick out all sugars at least in our breakfast routines. These pineapple breakfast bowls were the result of a really good produce sale at the local market. These were the gut punch I needed after a cheat on carb filled weekend. There is something about eating a smart breakfast that prevents me from caving to cravings the rest of the day….or until about dinner hour when I grab the dip and chips.  VIEW FULL POST

Entryway + Office Makeover

We only have about 6 weeks left in our rental home, and leave it to me to wait till the last stretch to finally finish the entryway + office makeover. As you remember, we re-finished a flea market dresser, and I refinished this $3 desk to unify the two into one longer piece. We painted our walls grey, used a deep blue grey paint for the furniture, and gold finishes for the drawer pulls… VIEW FULL POST

Indoor + Outdoor Plant Guide.

(Majesty palm, faux aloe, succulent + creeping Jenny bowl)

Many good post topics stem from reader requests, so I really do love hearing from you all! I thought this was a topic that I needed brushing up on myself, so it was fun to dive into. Gabe is actually the green thumb between us (no surprise there) considering I can barely keep a succulent plant alive, while he has faithful perennials popping up to say hello this week. So we co-wrote this indoor + outdoor plant guide, where we find them, and how to keep them alive!

A Baby Gear Fave.

April 13, 2016

Is it just me, or does baby gear just keep getting better each year? We have used the same pack n’ play for all three children, and it did just fine! However, when I opened this Fisher Price Day & Night play yard, I decided it was time for a trade in. This was just what I needed for our current stage with Rocco. We don’t currently have a room for him so he has been in ours since he was born! He outgrew his bassinet, and there is no room for a full sized crib next to my bed. Needless to say I was extremely happy to find a compact play yard that is also spacious and practical. It has the sleep/play area with padded mat, as well as a detachable inclined sleeper for my lazy lounger. He loves to keep mom in eyes view, but I can no longer leave him on the bed since he rolls around. VIEW FULL POST
