It’s finally time to show you the end result of what started as a blank slate spotted with many green paint samples. We have been going about our home renovation one room at a time, so for the past few years this guest room just had a bed! I was so excited to work on a space from scratch as that usually isn’t the case. However, I started at 9 months pregnant making one too many trips to the paint store before admitting I would need some help with this one. We partnered with Modsy to help design this space, and was so happy to have a fresh perspective on it. Today we are sharing the before, during, and after photos that brought this space to life!
Before
To catch you up to speed, here is where we left off on determining paint color. By the time we had the room painted I was ready to hand off this project so I could take time off to have a baby! That is when we decided to work with Modsy.
Modsy is an online interior design service that delivers highly realistic 3D designs of your exact room filled so you can virtually “try on” products and designs before you buy. All I had to do was snap photos and measurements of the room before we started to upload on your own profile. Our designer then made renderings with a few different layouts and design ideas. We were able to easily mark what we loved and what we didn’t, and it evolved into a room I know will serve our family well in the coming years!
During
I loved how our designer had various options for me to choose from based on our design style questionnaire. I often select the main piece of furniture and design around that, but this time, I started with the paint color because I really wanted to incorporate some gray green into a bedroom. Our Modsy stylist worked around this with ease and found some really cool pieces for this space. I like how Modsy’s 3D style editor and live swap feature makes it easy and fun to change layouts and furniture in your room.
These were the final renderings! It was easy to be able to swap out any products we needed, and communicate back and forth through the end of the process. Once we decided on the final concept, we were able to add to cart any items we wanted. You can shop multiple retailers in all from one easy checkout process. We have rarely designed and completed a room in such a short span of time (well, not including the paint decision process… (L to the O to the L), so this was such an exciting project to see unfold.
After
I am so happy with the outcome, and would use Modsy again in a heartbeat. After all of the pieces arrived we assembled and arranged the furniture, and I pulled some final details from our storage room and antique stores. I really love the contrast of dark and muted tones in this room, and how calm the overall look and feel is. My hope is that it will be a relaxing environment for whatever guests (or kiddos) take temporary rest here.
Since we get requests frequently to help design other homes, I will confidently be recommending Modsy as the place to start with design help. GUESS WHAT?! I have a discount code for you! Use code ‘ANNA20’ for 20% off their already affordable design package options. Can’t wait to hear what rooms you tackle with Modsy!
