These last few months have chased me down, and I can hardly believe it is mid September! Before I had a chance to announce the D.C. workshop, it sold out! So I wanted to make sure and post more details about the Chicago workshop on October 11th! We had originally planned for August which was a little too tight of a deadline for all involved….
With every dark pair of denim, I wear out the knees first. They fade over time, and sit in a stack in my closet. Well, I chuckle a little over the destroyed knee denim look taking over, and the amount that you can purchase them for. Really, why dish out a couple hundred when you can upcycle a pair you already own? Sharing my method for successful torn denim on the eHow style blog:) P.S. Had to do some research at Jeni’s ice cream so I willingly obliged to taste testing the Brambleberry crunch…
As my own family is working on living a simpler lifestyle, I have complete respect for those doing this so well. When I heard about Aurora’s family and the life they have chosen to live in a tiny home on wheels, I asked her to share her story with you. So happy to have her as a guest today…
Hi all! My name is Aurora, I’m a website curator and photographer some days, mama always and wife first! I love and believe in creativity in the small things; in the mundane, in our dwelling spaces, in our words, in all our days. VIEW FULL POST
Everytime I say I am done adding things to my plate and simplifying my life, a door opens that beckons I walk through it. When I was asked to be a contributor to Condé Nast Traveler, the door was to irresistible to ignore. Thankful for this opportunity and cannot wait to share all content we have planned!
My first article went up yesterday giving you an hour by hour suggested guide for 24 hrs in Atlanta.
Because anyone who has flown through Atlanta has been stuck here are some point or other, am I right? 😉
Hope you all enjoy it! My dear cousin/kindred spirit is getting married this weekend so I am off to OH at it’s most beautiful time of year! Can’t wait to touch base in my home state and visit with near and dear. Happy weekend!
We reached the 60’s in the evenings this week, and although the highs were in the 80’s, so naturally everyone in the south deemed it fall weather. On cue the boots were out. I readily admit my midwest roots have been affected by the southern weather over the years and 60 degrees in the morning merits a sweater;)
Had fun teaming up with Calypso St. Barth to style some of their new fall pieces! Favorite aspect of the chambray dress is how easy it is. You feel like your outfit is complete with a long necklace and a pair of booties. The dress does all the work! And the sweater dress….easily something I will wear throughout the next few seasons. Maybe I won’t even take it off because it is so soft.
Should we vote on fall just continuing through winter and skipping it altogether? We’ll come back to that question come January:)
Calypso St. Barth is running their gift card promotion if you want to take advantage! Use Code: GCFALL2014FB for the following deals:
$50 off $300
$150 off 600
$300 off 1000
Note valid on fur, offer expires Sept. 21st!
I am learning to work essential oils through different aspects of our day to day life. I have a lot to learn though so I was relieved when I found out my friend Casey Wiegand has a site dedicated to all things essential oils! There are some excellent ideas on the blog, she hosts classes, and shares recipe ideas on her new Essential Oils instagram account. I am in!
This is a very simple DIY you can do to help keep you lips from getting too dry, and naturally working in beneficial oils. Just by smelling peppermint it is a tension relief and can help with headaches (I get them easily!), so I use Peppermint for this recipe. However, you can substitute with your favorites like lemon, tangerine, etc.
Essential Oil Lip Scrub
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1/4 C. raw or turbo sugar
1 Tablespoon Vitamin E Oil (optional)
2-4 drops essential oil (I suggest wholesale prices)
Directions:
Mix all ingredients and store in an air tight container.
Rub into lips and wipe off with a washcloth.
Finish with lip balm of choice.
Enjoy your super soft smackers! You can learn the benefits of each oil through Casey’s magazine which is a super helpful visual guide.
x, Anna
I have so much admiration for pen and ink artists. It takes time and patience and so much creativity. I couldn’t stop staring at Lindsay’s work. Isn’t it beautiful? Her shopPen and Paint is loaded with beautiful prints like these.
Discovered her shop through The Brand Market (she was a part of our L.A. Tote bags), and decided I need to start collecting her work to rotate as a monthly calendar;) Lindsay works with black and color ink pens as well as watercolor!
And sending you off with some fun links for your weekend:
