VIEW FULL POSTWe have a few different bigger projects going on that have turned our home into a construction zone, so I welcomed the opportunity to pull together one small corner for our kids to enjoy. This is the only placesof the home that still features the original 1860s brick! It is one of my favorite spots. We decided to turn this into the brick lounge corner: for reading, listening to music, and just hanging out together.

I do however try to order anything we may need ahead of time so it I don’t have to think about it once the busy weeks come. It was hard to narrow down favorites this year! We are starting work on our living room this week! Although our home was built in the 1860s, it has had many additions and renovations through recent decades. Our goal is restore some of the older features, and also add in some elements that feel more true to the time period of the Italianate style home. I have been searching for where to find historic fireplace surrounds, which will be one of the main focal points of the room.
