The start of school, baby update, a final paint color decision, and a new series!

Backyard Movie Night – (We’ve been using the same projector for a few years! )

1. It’s been a week of adjusting to new routines, and cramming in a bunch of home projects we are trying to wrap up before the baby comes! I am feeling the need to slow down though, and prep myself both physically and mentally for the birth. I’ve never been good about taking care of myself, so determined to rest leading up to the birth and after the birth properly this time! I found out at the doctor the baby already has hair, and switched from breech to head down – two things that oddly made me tear up. (Although that seems to be a daily occurrence these days. #pregnancy) I will share the things that have helped me prepare next week since you all shared so many helpful tips.

The Boys’ Room Design

August 14, 2019

I had Tara Carter come and shoot some updated photos of the boys’ room…and shockingly got it lego free for a few brief hours! Over the last year I have kept my eye out for vintage pieces and organization solutions for my boys’ room to tie it all together. It’s one of my favorite things about finishing a space….finding the things that will make the room more personal to the people who will use it the most.

Today we are sharing an updated tour of this bedroom with never before seen views, and hopefully answering some of your source and layout quesitons!

4th of July Weekend!

July 5, 2019

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July:) We hosted a family backyard bash this year potluck style. Everyone brought a dish, we played yard games, and lit up the sky with quite a fireworks series! It was a good option for our toddlers who are still find the noise of fireworks petrifying, and could watch from the safety of the living room windows.

5 habits that changed my life for the better.

January 9, 2019

As a chronic list maker and goal setter, I actually started the year with the determination to make zero goals. Odd right? But as someone who has put too much value in the past on productivity, this year is more about continuing the practice of rest and habits that fuel my life in the right ways. It takes a long time to become the person you hope to be, but the small habits we implement are what lead to the bigger outcomes. I wanted to share 5 habits that changed my life for the better, and that I am continuing to fight for throughout this year…

Our 2019 Home Renovation Project List

January 2, 2019

We moved into this home over 2 years ago, and the goal was always to renovate one room at a time. It helps me to put my focus and energy in one direction so it actually gets completed! The problem though is I already want to change up a few spaces we completed in the beginning! My mind is always turning and it is hard to shut off that creative side sometimes…to a fault! Gabe and I had a meeting the other day about our goals for this home in 2019, and I am sharing it here so you can follow along with the process as we go!

30 ideas for mental and physical decluttering.

November 30, 2018

I started a 30 Day clean up series on my personal instagram account at the beginning of the month, and it has challenged me to face all of the things I have been procrastinating on. Many times our physical spaces can be a reflection of the mental or emotional chaos or clutter we feel. I wanted to make room for a peace filled December, and in the process, this list brought to attention some things I didn’t even realize about myself. When we can peel away layers, find quiet, and learn how to important the calm is, we may actually find the roadblocks keeping us from peace. It isn’t too late to print this out, and go through it this month so you can head into the new year feeling rejuvenated versus exhausted and overwhelmed.
