Cozy bedding favorites and guest bedroom details.

September 10, 2019

We have family coming to stay with us to help when the new baby comes, so we started prepping the room to make it comfortable despite it being in the middle of a re-design!  The bedding we had in this space was really worn out and the duvet starting to fall apart, so I started looking for options that would transition well with the new season coming. I really loved what I read about Garnet Hill, and their responsibly sourced products so I’m teaming up with them for today’s post. We may only have half of the room painted, but there WILL BE comfy bedding by golly! I really was hoping to find some options that work for all seasons and last for years to come.

A quick and easy hack to plump up your sofa cushions. (+Leather Care!)

September 9, 2019

We get asked frequently about how our Article leather Sven sofa has held up over the last few years. It is the main piece we use in our living room, and considering the amount of traffic and spills it has gotten from our little ones, it has held up surprisingly well. It looks worn, but I personally love the look of worn in leather. Like a good pair of boots. One thing I was disappointed in though was the sag of the sofa cushions. I spotted an easy hack to plump up sofa cushions on A Beautiful Mess, and wanted to pass along to you + some leather care tips!

Tried and True Newborn Favorites

September 5, 2019

There were so many things I thought I needed with my first baby, and we registered for all the gear! There seem to be so many bells and whistles in the baby department these days, but the newborn phase goes so quickly, and after 5 babies, this is what I have narrowed it down to actually using and needing in those first few months….

August 30, 2019

(Source)

We finally wrapped our last deadline before this little one’s due date and it makes me so happy to look at the long weekend ahead and know I can actually rest! Today we are celebrating Azelie’s 3rd birthday which is hard for me to believe! She has been such a spunky and sweet burst of light, and I can’t wait to see her become a big sister. I wanted to address the topic of renovations in our home, and where we stand with a big what-if on the line…

Aligned Row Art Wall Tutorial

August 27, 2019

Gallery walls can feel daunting to pull together, but there are several ways to hang art and photos in your home in series of three or four that is just as fun! We had our art leaning against the wall for over a year. This can work too, but I do really how this visually cleans up this side of the room. (That is, before it becomes the cluttered mess it usually is!) We thought it would help to break it down into a 5 step aligned row art wall tutorial you can try along any wall for any room!

what to pack in hospital bag

Birth Intentions, Birth Prep Aids, + Hospital Essentials.

August 21, 2019

Considering Azelie came 4 weeks early, I started scrambling over the weekend to pack a bag this time to be ready to go! (The braxton hicks are already starting. Yikes!) As I am learning more about the perspective and narratives surrounding birth in our culture, it is no surprise I was under the impression it was as simple as choosing to have an epidural or not. After sharing more of my experience about healing from past birth experiences to prepare for this one, so many of you had some encouraging tips and resources I started to dive into. My eyes have been opened to how more importantly than a birth plan is preparing yourself mentally and emotionally for bringing your baby into the world. I wanted to share a few things that have helped me prepare for this birth, as well as what I am bringing in my hospital bag…

Backyard Movie Night – (We’ve been using the same projector for a few years! )

1. It’s been a week of adjusting to new routines, and cramming in a bunch of home projects we are trying to wrap up before the baby comes! I am feeling the need to slow down though, and prep myself both physically and mentally for the birth. I’ve never been good about taking care of myself, so determined to rest leading up to the birth and after the birth properly this time! I found out at the doctor the baby already has hair, and switched from breech to head down – two things that oddly made me tear up. (Although that seems to be a daily occurrence these days. #pregnancy) I will share the things that have helped me prepare next week since you all shared so many helpful tips.
