Family Travel: Disney World in a Day!

March 19, 2019

So glad we captured their reaction to the surprise on film.

Gabe and I have been wanting to take our kids to Disney World for so long, but there hasn’t ever been the right time. I would say this spontaneous decision could have gone either way, but this time it turned out in our favor. Phew! My nausea and fatigue from first trimester pregnancy had just came to a halt, and with the new burst of energy I felt like it just might be the right time to conquer the world! …..well Disney World at least. In today’s post we wanted to share this video of surprising the kids and a few highlights from the day, as well as a re-cap of making the most of one day in Magic Kingdom with varying ages!

Happy Weekend: First Trimester Favorites

March 8, 2019

(Rocco and Azelie ask me frequently if they also have babies in their bellies.)

As the first trees start to bloom here in Atlanta to give us all hope that the end of a long gloomy season is almost here, it also parallels with the end of my first trimester! Three months in which I truly hibernated with dedication. I have nothing but gratitude for this little one, although I admit I am relieved to say goodbye to the nausea that came dutifully from 5-8pm every evening.

DIY Board and Batten

February 15, 2019

Gabe is writing today’s post (on his birthday no less) to break down the step by step process of how to install a board and batten wall!

At first glance this may seem long and complicated, but it is not as bad as what it appears! In case you missed the powder room renovation reveal, you can check there for the steps leading up to this point. I have written this with a first timer in mind, and therefore try to give some tips and details to make the project go over smoothly, and not simply how to accomplish it. Some steps you may even be able to skip. Hopefully the video can give you a quick idea as well as what to expect for a day of DIY Board and Batten.
